MARLENE ANN NOVOTNY (nee Drozdz), passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Frank Novotny; loving mother of Karen Massaro and Kelly Parker (Joe); adored grandmother of Darla Massaro (Seth Rakich), Jacki Massaro, Nick Massaro (Kim), Tori Brandenburg (Eric), Jackson Parker, and Chloe Parker; cherished great grandmother of Lennon, Talia, Aurora, and Johnny. She is the daughter of the late Chester and Harriet Drozdz and sister of Richard Drozdz (deceased) and Debbie Appleby.
Marlene devoted herself wholeheartedly to family, friends, food, and fun. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those she loved, finding true joy in supporting her family in any way she could. Staying connected with friends was deeply important to her, and she cherished every opportunity to gather, share a meal, and create lasting memories.
Marlene had a passion for travel and adventure. She loved vacationing in Las Vegas and Hawaii, wintering in Hollywood, Florida, and cruising with her whole family, taking 18 cruises over her lifetime always planning the next one. She especially enjoyed dining out, playing bingo, and entertaining family and friends. A devoted sports fan, she rooted proudly for the Browns, Indians, and especially the Hudson Explorers!
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a mass be said at St. Basil’s in remembrance of Marlene. Friends may call at FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA RD (Rte. 82), SAGAMORE HILLS, MONDAY, MARCH 2, 2026, 9:00 – 10:30 AM FOR VISITATION. Funeral 10:30 am at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am, St. Basil the Great, Brecksville. Interment All Saints at a later date.
