KATHRYN M. KNAPIK (nee Mates), age 62, passed away on February 26, 2026. Beloved wife of Greg Knapik; loving mother of Chris Knapik (Meg); dear grandmother of Maggie Knapik and Mariclaire Knapik; cherished sister of Richard Mates (Paula), Marilyn Lottman (Frank), Ellyn Morgan (Tim), Michael Mates (Nancy), Lynn Nowak (Gary), and Bill Mates; aunt and great aunt of many.

A devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, she spent her life in the service of others. She combined the artistry of her early years as a hairdresser with a distinguished nursing career in pediatrics and school nursing. Her large Catholic family upbringing helped craft a unique and genuine spirit that was deeply kind and always looked out for everyone else. A truly creative soul, she took great pride in sharing her time and artistic talents through small, thoughtful gifts and a conversational love that made everyone feel special. She carried a curious nature and a positive light into every room she entered, building a beautiful life defined by the simple joys of family, faith, and the many friends she made along the way.

Funeral Monday, March 9, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
